To fuel revelers, the downtown resto is creating a casual basement bar serving Caesars, high balls, canned beer and snacks — a terrific place to warm up between ski runs and zip line tours. Just head downstairs from the front lobby. Looking for something a bit more substantial? Come for dinner and if you are in a hurry, the three-course menu that week features comfort food such as their toothsome chicken schnitzel and short ribs. And, they will be open for lunch that week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11am-1:30pm. Can’t wait!

The second Eau Claire Single Malt will be formally released throughout Alberta at select retailers today at 11am. Don’t delay. The first whisky, which was released last year, sold out in 24 hours. “This subtly complex whisky has flavours of sweet red fruit with underlying vanilla and caramel with raisin undertones and a long oaky finish,” says Eau Claire’s master distiller, Caitlin Quinn. “This whisky is a testament to traditional craft – it is remarkably mature for its age, but young and innovative in its outlook.” Batch #002 of Eau Claire’s Single Malt whisky is non-chill filtered, with natural colour and an ABV of 43 per cent, $95+/750mL. The Turner Valley distillery expects to release Single Malt annually as their dunnage warehouse stocks mature. Find at Bin 104, Chateau Louis, Color de Vino, Keg N Cork, Sherbrooke Liquor, Hicks in St Albert and other fine spirits retailers.
