fresh Italian cheeses are back, yaay!

Fresh burrata, bufala ricotta, and mozzarella di bufala from Campania are back in stock at the Italian Centre Shops. With production disrupted and flights cancelled due to Covid, it’s been several months since we have seen these specialty fresh cheeses in the dairy cooler. Nothing tastes quite like them—this is the next best thing to being there.

it takes a cookie

Sweetness Bakery co-founders Kristy and Chris Goodrow saw that Covid was taking a toll on the mental health of their three kids. They also discovered that demand for services at Kids Help Phone was up an astronomical 350 per cent since the pandemic first hit. They decided they could help. They created a cookie colouring kit: sugar cookies featuring kid-friendly designs and motivational sayings by local artist Justine Ma. The idea is for kids to colour the cookies during playtime, when they might open up about how they are feeling, then devour the cookies right after. Here’s how you can help. The cost for 10 cookies and markers is $39.95, with $15 directly going to Kids Help Phone. Already have the edible ink markers? Purchase just the cookie set for $27 (and $15 still goes to Kids Help Phone). Available until Remembrance Day. Visit by bysweetness.com for more info and to buy cookie kits.
