Otto Food & Drink and Three Vikings Pub have teamed up in a delicious fundraiser, sweet red Thai sausage on a bun, to benefit the CHEW project. Otto’s is called the Thai dog: red thai curry sausage on a bun with vegetable rhubarb slaw, lime aioli and cilantro. The Three Vikings’ offering has a banh mi vibe— mint lime aioli, pickled carrots, julienned cucumbers and cilantro on a crusty Bon Ton bun. Here’s how it works. Buy the sausage on a bun, and $4 from each purchase supports CHEW, a small organization doing important work—frontline support for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Edmonton. CHEW provides a safe space to sleep, eat, shower, do laundry and get off the street as well as short- and long-term counselling, help with housing referrals, cultural connections, bus tickets. It looks we will be able to dine indoors at many restaurants soon. Bar Bricco is opening Tuesday June 15 for in-house and Uccellino will be open for reservations indoors on June 16 (make reservations for either at corso32group.com). Check with your fave resto, some may wait to be sure it’s real. Otherwise, the patios are open with AHS restrictions in force and take-out is still a great option.
