The Amici dell’Enotria (Italian Wine Society) holds a dinner at Happy & Olive (9640 142 Street), 6pm, Monday, November 27. The evening starts with hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail made with the delicious Nepeta Amaro Majora, followed by fine wines from the Amici cellars, including a four-vintage vertical of Capezzana Carmignano and two vintages of Feudo Montoni Vrucara (made from century-old, pre-phylloxera Nero d’Avola vines). The special treat? Capezzana’s 2003 Vin Santo Riserva. What a lineup! Tix: $175/p+ (members) and up.

The newest local chocolate company is Chocolate Escapade and their calendar features seasonal flavours like eggnog and red berry and select flavours like the Guava Crisp and Earl Grey with lemon, $70.
The Jacek Chocolate Couture Advent Calendar is their 10th anniversary edition, with best sellers from the various collections, seasonal chocs and one bonbon made with cocoa beans from the Big Island of Hawaii, with 24 carat gold, $67.95.
Sherbrooke’s 24 Days of Beermas has 24 tall cans of mostly local, all delicious brew. On order now, although they may have a few in their stores in Ottewell and on St Albert Trail in late November, $159.
