gold medal chefs create gold medal plates Chef Eric Hanson (Prairie Noodle Shop) took top spot at Gold Medal Plates with a Nordic-inspired spot prawn poached in a smoky sturgeon broth. Chef Doreen Prei (Get Cooking) took silver with impeccable pan-seared Icelandic salmon and Shane Chartrand (Sage) silver with his gorgeous ode to the Haida Gwai called Charcoal and Smoke. The combo of chefs, Olympic athletes and Canadian musical talent raises funds for the Canadian Olympic Foundation — over $11 million so far. Chef Hanson now vies for top spot at the Canadian Culinary Championships (CCC) in Kelowna, February 3-4. For info and tix: http://goldmedalplates.com.
