buona pasqua

Canova Pasticceria (12667 125 Street, 780-452-8960) makes the Italian Easter bread called colomba di Pasqua (the Easter dove) right here in Edmonton. They make it the old-fashioned Milanese way, with candied orange peel, raisins, topped with crunchy meringue and sliced almonds There is also a version with chunks of dark chocolate. Yum. Have with fresh fruit and cream, toast it with butter, or make a bread pudding.
