beware the stinging nettles!
Another wonderful spring green—stinging nettles. They are more than edible but you do have to be careful when picking. After blanching they lose the sting but keep their wonderfully zesty spring flavour. Stinging nettles love moist soil—find in clumps near water, or you may find some growing in old garden beds, wherever the soil is rich, especially after rain. Chef Kathryn Joel uses nettles in pasta here.

henhouse (workshop eatery) fried chicken is on the tomato top100 best things to eat
The Henhouse is Workshop Eatery’s Covid19 response that chef/owner Paul Shufelt started late last year. He wanted to create a more-delivery friendly option for customers. While we can’t wait to see what Workshop has in store for this summer, when we hope there will be fewer restrictions on restaurants, in the meantime we are loving this casual menu of Southern favourites—Irving’s pulled pork, hickory-smoked Nonay beef brisket, smoky honey chipotle ribs, the savoury fried chicken and seriously delicious sides like Woodshed’s creamy coleslaw, jalapeno cheddar cornbread, pimento mac n cheese. Order with local beers, wine or jam jar cocktails too.
