the terroir hospitality symposium: recovery and resiliency
The Terroir Hospitality Symposium: Recovery & Resiliency is online this year, November 8-10 and November 15-17, allowing more opportunities to participate and share ideas. You can buy an all-access pass, participate in the evening sessions only and there are some free meet ups too. Hospitality folks don’t want to miss this:—the Town Hall with John Sinopoli from Save Hospitality.CA on Monday, November 8, is about building better restaurant businesses, ones that are more equal and more resilient. Visit here for all the deets.
tomatotop100: kouign-amann, lock stock coffee
The kouign-amann is just one of the sweet and savoury treats at this legendary downtown coffee bar. We are also big fans of the focaccia sandwiches and the lox on a bagel.
recipe of the week: filistix’s lamb shank kaldereta
A toothsome dish for chilly evenings. If you haven’t bought a lamb (or a half) yet from Haywire Farms, pop by the Four Whistle booth in the Old Strathcona, Downtown or Bountiful Farmers Markets. They have great local lamb too. The soy sauce, fish sauce and chicken liver spread give this dish an essential and delicious Filipino vibe. Tasty!
