last chance to register for open farm days

Farms have until May 31 to register for Alberta Open Farm Days, August 18-19. Why should you open up your farm that weekend? Open Farm Days contributes to building public trust in agriculture and grows the local food sector by connecting consumers with producers right at the farm gate. Last year was a record year: 101 host farms; 20,000 visits; 22 on-farm culinary happenings and over $146,000 in on-farm sales. Here is what Charlie Bredo of Troubled Monk Brewery thought about his experience and why he is doing it again. Register at http://albertafarmdays.com/host-farms-2018/.

asparagus and shrimp salad rolls with nuoc cham

Is there anything better on a hot day than crisp and crunchy salad rolls? Try grilling the shrimp first to add a smoky char flavour, even tastier, and pair with a juicy Cedar Creek Riesling. https://thetomato.ca/tomatoquarantwo/2017-may-june/feeding-people-16
