gin o’clock, picnic time and chenin blanc

picnic time!

We love the Bikes and Baskets Picnic Kits from Café Bicyclette (8627 91 Street). All you have to do is bring your bike (or rent a Giant Fathom bike at Creekside Cyclery in the Ritchie Market). There are sandwich baskets for one or two people; and for larger groups there is the charcuterie hamper with two cheeses, pate, fruits and macarons and a quiche basket with fruits, macarons and potato chips. The basket contains everything else you need for a successful picnic — a blanket, plates, utensils and a beverage (sorry, no wine). Be sure to return the basket the next day by 11am or you don’t get your $75 deposit back. To pre-book, call 587-524-8090.

Vines of Riverbend Tasting (2331 Rabbit Hill Road, 780-434-9444, http://vineswinemerchants.com/classesseminarsevents), Tuesday, June 6. TIX: $30/p+.
