visit green and gold in the year of the garden
The Green and Gold Community Garden will be offering all sort of events to help celebrate the Year of the Garden, yoga in the morning, garden tours every Saturday as well as other events such as composting and flower arranging tips throughout the summer. All are first come, first serve and free of charge. The Market hours are Tuesdays, 7pm-8:30 pm and on Saturdays, 11am-1:00 pm. This week there are early vegetables such as greens and lettuces, radishes, chives, sorrel; lots of fresh herbs, haskap berries and rhubarb. Patrick Saurette of the Marc shares a classic favourite from Il Portico, the toothsome Radicchio Corsi, radicchio stuffed with bocconcini with cherries. Though the method in this recipe is for cooking on the grill, you could make this on the stovetop. Not really the weather for outdoor grilling.
