Hugh Victor of Super Amigo Mexican Street Food is making huaraches at Southbound Brewing from July 18-28, during the Epcor Glass of the Sask Chef’s Series—thick handmade corn tortillas with black beans, chicken al pastor, purple cabbage, feta and salsa verde. Old Strathcona Farmers Market opened its doors in the old bus barns in 1983. To celebrate they are welcoming the community to hang out on 83 Avenue during market hours on four summer weekends. It might be closed to traffic but it’s open for summer fun. Here’s what’s happening: July 19–20: Play On 83—games for all ages; July 26–27: Roll and Stroll On 83—a celebration of all things movement; August 2–3: Paws On 83—for humans and their pets; August 30–31: Around the World On 83—a cultural celebration of global flavours, music and art.
