There is a new fall menu at Cibo Bistro (11244 104 780-757-2426, http://www.cibobistro.com) featuring chef Rosario Caputo’s hand-made pasta (think rigatoni with rabbit ragout) and his house-cured salumi. Check out this delish fennel salami on their charcuterie board now.

Executive chef and Gold Medal Plates contender Andrew Ihasz of the Renaissance Edmonton airport shared this stick-to-the-ribs autumn chowder chock full of corn, tomatoes and smoky bacon. It’s a great way to make use of the last of the corn and the tomatoes.

Catch some of these golden autumn rays on patios about town like The Glass Monkey (5842 111 Street, 780-760-2228, http://www.theglassmonkey.ca/). Their patio was rated by Open Table as one of Canada’s best. From 3:30pm, with heat lamps to cut the chill after the sun goes down.
