Once a year Kitchen by Brad (10130 105 Street, 780-757-7704 https://kitchenbybrad.ca) stocks the larder and makes their delish condiments and other tasty items available for your home kitchen. Think crème fraiche, mostarda, devil’s butter, BBQ rub, bacon jam, Ukrainian gravy (creamy mushroom sauce), Kitchen’s bacon (pre-order only), gingersnaps and the amazing espresso caramel sauce. holiday cocktail number two: xix spiked chai 

“Rich and creamy with the spicy warmth of chai, makes for an inviting winter drink for adults only,” Arielle Knecht, X1X

1 oz Grey Goose vodka
1 oz Galliano Vanilla liqueur
4 oz chilled chai tea
¾ oz Anese cinnamon simple syrup
1 oz cream

Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake until frothy, then strain into a Collins glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

If your holiday baking is all about the spices of the season, this German Christmas market cookie is for you. It does require a trip to K&K for oblaten, but other than that it’s a straightforward, make with your kids kind of recipe.
