visit may at the aga with chef chef doreen prei

May in the Art Gallery of Alberta has just opened. Expect really tasty food from chef Doreen Prei and team. The idea is seasonal, mostly local food and from our sneak peek, it’s wonderful—the grilled salad chock full of local veg, the toothsome quail and the sublime wild mushroom dish, could eat that every day. All dishes are meant to be shared which we love. The room has a simple and sleek look, an improvement on the former Zinc, where chef Prei also headed up the kitchen, so a homecoming of sorts. Jimmy Shewchuk of Prairie Catering and chef have put together an excellent team, more on that in our January issue. Dinner Tuesday-Saturday. And they are open for holiday brunch, December 4 and 18 during the Holiday Light up. Check it out!

support the grocery run

Did you know that, for just $250, the Grocery Run can support a family with nutritious, healthy, culturally appropriate food for a whole year? They maximize every dollar to support families in need using volunteers, food from partnerships with the Edmonton Food Bank and Leftovers Edmonton Foundation and buying food from local producers and businesses at a discount. The Multicultural Health Brokers Co-Op created the Grocery Run to help new Canadians. Without them, many new Canadians and refugee families would not be able to put food on their tables for their families. And, this year, it needs our help. Learn more about the Grocery Run here and think of donating to the Go Fund Me campaign.
