Over 55 downtown restos are pulling out the stops—offering superb flavours at great prices during Downtown Dining Week, Wednesday, March 15 to Sunday, March 26. Restaurants in the core have planned $20, $35, $50 and $65 menus for lunch, brunch and dinner. What’s for lunch? Enjoy braised chicken on greens and crème brûlée at the Marc, or lunch or brunch at Central Social Hall or Filistix. Dinner could be the bone-in pork chop and crème brûlée at the Marc, or Birdog’s steak tartare followed by the Honey Bunny pizza, or the multi-course tasting menu at Bar Bricco. Connie and John own several restaurants in Calgary, including Charcut Roast House, Charbar, Alley Burger and Connie & John’s Pizza. Connie has appeared on Top Chef Canada, Top Chef All Stars and is a Food Network’s Fire Master judge. Both are top mentors for young chefs, especially, for Connie, women in culinary. NAIT’s Chef in Residence program, an excellent experience for NAIT culinary students, is back after a two-year hiatus.
