Darling, two doors east of Color de Vino, opened last week. The food, by chef Lindsay James, is tasty, snacky, meant to be shared— oysters, duck, chicken yakitori, salads, a delicious red lentil dip. Have the Turkish-style eggs (poached eggs, served with the house-made rye and a tangy herby yogurt, with subtle heat from a splash of chili oil) for lunch or brunch. We had it with an outstanding gluten-free buckwheat bread, which chef sourced from a local bread maker, Breaking Bread. Explore the fun wine list with some rare wines from small producers. The room, designed by Nancy Surby, NAKO Design, is smallish, contemporary, beautiful. Owners Justin and Derrick Jones have created a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood. Check it out!
