The Uproot Food Store (10552 114 Street, 780-760-7668) now stocks six of excellent, time-saving Popowich Meat Company items—bacon-wrapped chicken breasts, spinach dip-stuffed chicken breasts, chicken cordon blue, chicken schnitzel, Maui Ribs (on the Tomato Top100 again this year, so good!) and bratwurst jalapeño poppers—with eight more to come shortly. Mike and Treena Popowich opened their Wolf Willow butcher shop a few years back and they have been wowing their customers with the high-quality meats, the prepared foods made in-house and local condiments. Uproot’s central Edmonton location is handy for those who can’t get out to the west end regularly. You can buy online too.
